A wanted man was arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a brief standoff with Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies and Kentucky State Police troopers, according to authorities.

According to a release from DCSO, at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a residence in the 1800 block of West 7th Street in Owensboro after receiving information that Tyler Glover, 24, was at the residence. Glover was being sought by deputies for several felony warrants including a recent burglary in which Glover is alleged to have stolen a firearm, according to DCSO..

“Upon arrival of deputies, Glover and other occupants of the residence refused to come out. Due to Glover’s past involvement with firearms, deputies elected not to enter the home but to surround the residence and await additional resources. KSP responded to assist deputies and a perimeter was formed around the residence,” according to the release.

DCSO said deputies were in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the residence and were communicating with Glover over a loudspeaker.

“After a short while the other occupants of the residence chose to come out of the home. Deputies continued talking with Glover and after approximately one hour Glover surrendered to deputies without further incident, and he was taken into custody,” the release says.

Glover was the only person charged in the incident, and he was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center for the following offenses:

Warrant:

  • Fugitive from another state (Indiana)

Warrant:

  • Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
  • Fleeing/evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle)
