On Wednesday night in Evansville, the Post 9 Owensboro Bombers continued their winning ways with a big 15-2 win over Funkhouser Post 8. The Bombers jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first, but it was an 11-run third inning that propelled them to victory.
After jumping to an early 3-0 lead, the squad added one in the second and 11 in the third to run rule Post 8.
Houston Lynn and Logen Thomas led the squad in hitting with two hits a piece, while Flynn knocked in three runs and Thomas two. Cayden Crabtree, Eli DeBoer, Aiden Wells, Michael Chaney, Paxton Gardner, and Joshua Mayes each added a single.
Garrett Lanham crossed the plate three times as a courtesy runner.
Talan Cartwright led the charge on the mound, allowing no runs on one hit on three innings pitched. Thomas entered in relief and allowed two runs on three hits. Peyton Cary closed the game, allowing no runs on no hits.
The Bombers return to action on Friday against Lyon County at home at Kamuf Park in Owensboro.
