The City and County Parks & Recreation Departments are accepting shelter reservations for the 2025 season.
COUNTY SHELTERS
The park season will run from April 1 to October 31. Fees start at $30 for a shelter accommodating up to 75 people.
The enclosed shelters feature ceiling fans, picnic tables, and lights with access to a charcoal grill and all of the neighboring park amenities.

Whispering Wind at Panther Creek Park and Shelter #1 at Yellow Creek Park will be unavailable, as both shelters are scheduled to be rebuilt.
CITY SHELTERS
Shelters are available at Legion, Moreland, and Ben Hawes parks and can be reserved between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. from April 4 through November 2.
Reservations must be paid in full at the time of the booking. Parks officials ask that reservations be made a minimum of 14 days in advance.
Legion and Moreland park shelters can be reserved for up to 4 hours for $48. Each additional hour is an extra $12. Ben Hawes Park shelters are a flat fee of $65.
To reserve a shelter, visit owensboroparks.org, call 270-687-8700, or visit the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Administrative Center at 1530 McJohnson Avenue. The office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
