The 2024-2025 Broadway season kicks off at the RiverPark Center this month. First up will be “A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage” featuring the whole “Peanuts” crew, followed by the Tony Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen.”

The Emmy and Peabody award-winning story by Charles M. Schulz, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” has warmed the hearts of millions of fans since it first aired on television more than 55 years ago. The story will play out in a stage adaptation as the “Peanuts” characters go on a journey to uncover the true meaning of Christmas.

The show will be at 7 p.m. on December 9. After the final bow, the show crescendos into a celebration of song as the audience is invited to join in singing traditional Christmas songs and carols.

“We couldn’t imagine a more heartwarming way to start our Broadway season than with ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas,'” said General Manager Chris Patterson. “It’s the perfect show to bring families and friends together and capture the spirit of the holidays. “

Then at 8 p.m. on December 15, “Dear Evan Hansen” comes to the RiverPark Center stage.  Declared “one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history” by the Washington Post, the musical follows the story of 17-year-old Evan Hansen as he goes through high school with social anxiety, depression, and a freshly broken arm.

The musical debuted in 2016 and ran for 5 years before it went to the silver screen in September 2021 with a film adaption. The show closed its Broadway run just a year later, and this tour is the second National American Tour since it opened on Broadway.

Tickets for all Broadway shows are now available at Ticketmaster.com and the RiverPark Center Box Office. For more details, visit the Box Office from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or call 270-687-2770.
