Hancock County started their season with a blowout win, while Trinity fell short on the road.

Will Hernandez finished with a team-high 17 points, as the Raiders dropped their season opener to Allen County-Scottsville 82-53. Connor Hatfield scored 15 points, while Hayden Aull recorded nine points including a team-high three threes.
“We did not match their physicality, and they beat us at our own game, which is playing with pace and being the tougher team,” Trinity head coach Nathan West said. “We have had a tremendous summer and offseason, and I felt like we took a step back tonight. We are better than we showed tonight.”
Hancock County 83, Cannelton 10
Alex Madden led the Hornets with 16 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and one assist as they blew out Cannelton 83-10. Keegan Wilson added 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal, while Dylan Morris recorded a team-high 11 rebounds.
“I thought we played as well as we could,” Hancock County head coach Josh Roberts said. “We shot well and executed at a high level. The bench was fantastic and came in lifting us up. Most importantly, we shared the ball, played together, and with toughness.
