Apollo 49, Owensboro Catholic 47
Kobe Kelley finished with 15 points including a team-high four three-pointers to help Apollo leave Owensboro Catholic with the victory 49-47. Luke Jarboe also finished with 15 points, six of which came in the fourth quarter. Tate Powers (7), Eli Williams (6), and Landon Henning (6) rounded out the Eagles scoring.
“Our defense was really solid, and I am proud of our resilience down the stretch,” Apollo head coach Ryne Tinsley said. “One thing about this team is they’ll fight for 32 minutes, and I am proud of our seniors for stepping up to find a way to seal it late.”
For Owensboro Catholic, Luke Beickman finished with 19 points, including four threes while Solly Smith added 17 points.
“We didn’t shoot the ball very well,” Owensboro Catholic head coach Tim Riley said. “We shot 36% from the field and we have struggled to score this far.”
Butler County 99, Trinity 56
Ian Roby (14), Hayden Aull (12), and Bransen Howard (11) all scored in double digits, but it wasn’t enough as Trinity fell on the road to Butler County 99-56. The Raiders didn’t have an answer for Ty Price who finished with 50 points, including nine three-pointers.
“The first half was ok and then things fell apart,” Trinity head coach Nathan West said. “We didn’t stick to our game plan and Ty Price went off. We have to take more pride in our defense and rebounding to take the next steps we want to take.
