McLean County took down Muhlenberg County, while Hancock County and Trinity both lost on the road.
Union County 60, Hancock County 43
Running into foul trouble early, Hancock County was unable to make up the massive deficit they found themselves at halftime, falling 60-43 to Union County. Ansley House led the way with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Caroline Jones added seven points, six assists, and four steals. Madyson Higdon finished with seven points and five rebounds, while Jordyn Waltrip recorded four rebounds and four steals.
” I am proud of the young team and how they don’t quit,” Hancock County head coach Kevin Husk said. “We had two girls foul out, but we played them even in the second half and executed offensively. We’re growing so much with each game.”
McLean County 47, Muhlenberg County 38
Kenadi Level led the Lady Cougars with 20 points and five assists as they put together an impressive performance to beat Muhlenberg County 47-38. Katie McCoy was second on the team in points with 11 while Sarah Larkin (8) and Ava Lannum (4) rounded out the team scoring.
“I am super proud of our girls,” McLean County head coach Eli Ellis said. “Our first four games we have been building and learning from our game experiences, and I think tonight they took all of the lessons and put together a good game. Every girl contributed tonight by playing to their strengths and giving 100%.”
Butler County 68, Trinity 48
Preslee Meserve scored eight of her team-high 14 points in the second half as Trinity fell to Butler County 68-48 on the road. Ella Morris was second on the team in scoring with 12 points and hit a team-high two three-pointers while Sophie Hatfield added five points.
