The Daviess County Solid Waste Department has extended its temporary flood debris collection site at Stanley Park through May 9. Residents may drop off flood-damaged interior home debris at no cost.
The site, located off U.S. 60 at Stanley Park, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Roll-off dumpsters are available for household waste, construction and demolition debris, and sandbags. Acceptable flood-related items include damaged drywall, carpet, and furniture.
Appliances without Freon should be taken to a recycling center such as Dahl & Groezinger. Empty flood-affected refrigerators will be accepted at the Daviess County Landfill.
Officials ask that residents not bring vegetative debris or hazardous waste from outdoor or garage areas to the park site. For more information, call the Daviess County Landfill at 270-229-4484.
