After last week’s season opener was rained out, Friday After 5 is officially launching its 2025 season tonight with a high-energy night of rock music and family fun in downtown Owensboro.
The Kroger Street Fair featuring food trucks and vendors opens at 5 p.m., with live music starting at 6 p.m. on the Overlook Stage featuring local artist Annabel Whitledge. The night’s headliner, Snake Oil: Ikons of Rock, takes the main stage at 7 p.m.
The Snake Oil performance delivers an all-in-one tribute to the biggest “hair bands” of the late ’70s and ’80s, featuring the music and looks of iconic acts like Kiss, Van Halen, Heart, Joan Jett, Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard, and more. The show includes elaborate costumes, audience interaction, and special effects designed to recreate a stadium-level experience.
Also part of the rock-themed evening are performances from 90’s Rock Circus — highlighting grunge and alt-rock legends like Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, and Rob Zombie — and Leathers & Lace, a tribute set to the music of Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Tom Petty, and their contemporaries.
Organizers said they’re eager to welcome crowds back after last week’s cancellation and are expecting a strong turnout for one of the most dynamic events of the summer series.
