Crazy Me Gifts & Apparel is celebrating its 10th anniversary all month long, featuring sales and prizes along with a special parking lot party this Saturday. The boutique, located at 235 East 20th Street, began as a home-based business and has grown into a beloved shopping destination.
The anniversary festivities kick off with a parking lot party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, featuring local vendors such as Simply Southern, Kentucky Mountain Coffee (offering free drinks), Doozie Doez, Chatty Snaps, and more. Attendees can enjoy giveaways, hourly prizes, free gifts with purchases, and significant sales.
Customers can enjoy a 10% discount on all items that day, with an additional 5% off for cash payments.
“At Crazy Me, cash is king,” said owner Donna Southard.
Crazy Me Gifts was recently voted “Best Gift Shop” in Owensboro Living’s Best of Owensboro awards and has earned multiple Platinum and Gold honors in the Messenger-Inquirer’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
“I love my store. I love my staff. I love my customers. Best job ever,” Southard said. “I truly believe we have the best customers ever. They have become friends. The relationships have been such a personal blessing for me.”
The current location is Southard’s third brick-and-mortar storefront since the company opened in 2015, but her business began years earlier as a passion project out of her home.
“I quickly became obsessed with helping people find the perfect and unique gift for their celebrations — birthdays, weddings, and even the hard times like bereavement,” she said.
Crazy Me offers custom T-shirts, laser engraving, embroidery, and school uniforms for Owensboro Catholic High School and Holy Name in Henderson. Southard and her team of eight staff members also offer free delivery to local funeral homes and hospitals.
Southard attributes her success to customer service and originality.
“I try to find things that are exclusive to our store,” she said. “We’ve just kept doing our thing — even through the pandemic— and people have supported us the whole way.”
