The Owensboro Post 9 Bombers fell behind 5-0 early and were unable to complete the comeback, losing to Evansville Funhouser Post 8 5-3. Talon Cartwright finished 2-4, while Barrett Evans and Levi Rogers both went 2-3 with an RBI. Jagger Pate started on the mound, allowing three earned runs over 5 1/3 innings, striking out three. Cartwright came on in relief, striking out one over 2/3 of an inning.
“Tonight we came out flat and fell behind early,” Owensboro Bombers head coach Matt Freeman said. “The bats finally started heating up and we just ran out of innings. On to the next game.”
The Bombers will be back in action this weekend for their Jimmy V fundraiser tournament.
