St. Mary of the Woods School and Trinity High School have been nationally recognized for creating a culture where students feel they belong. Both Whitesville schools were named a platinum-level 2025 Jostens Renaissance School of Distinction.
According to a release, the award celebrates schools that show measurable success in building a positive climate through Jostens’ “Results Formula” — Respect, Reinforce, Recognize, Reward, and Relationships. To qualify, schools must document achievements in at least eight different focus areas and submit a detailed application.
Platinum distinction is the highest level of recognition, following Silver and Gold. Only 140 schools across North America earned the honor at any level.
St. Mary and Trinity Principal Emily Hernandez said the recognition reflects years of effort by staff, students, and families.
“I am thankful for our God Squad, all ‘staffulty,’ students, and parents who played a role in both St. Mary of the Woods and Trinity becoming Josten’s Platinum Schools of Distinction,” Hernandez said. “Those six Rs help us build leaders all around us … but more importantly, help each person thrive to be who God intends for them to be. It assures everyone is seen, heard, and loved.”
Sara Sausker, Director of Jostens Renaissance Education, said the recognition highlights the dedication of schools like St. Mary of the Woods and Trinity.
“The passion and dedication of the educators and student leaders at these schools are a driving force in building a culture of achievement, pride, and belonging,” Sausker said. “These schools truly create exceptional environments for both staff and students.”
Jostens Renaissance, launched in 1988, is designed to improve morale, academic performance, and character development by strengthening school culture.
