Daviess County lost a close one, while Trinity (Whitesville) held off Butler County.
Grayson County 3, Daviess County 2
Maya Pollard finished with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Jenna Lawson had a team-high 19 assists in the Lady Panthers’ 3-2 (16-25, 25-15, 25-16, 16-25, 6-15) loss to Grayson County. Lexi Jones led the team in digs with 34 and Haylee Clark had 10 kills, four blocks, and three digs.
“Grayson County showed up to play tonight,” Daviess County Head Coach Tyla Bailey said. “We started slow and made a lot of unforced errors. It was a learning moment for us. We are ready to play tomorrow night in the Apollo Summer Slam.”
Trinity (Whitesville) 3, Butler County 2
Laney Mills recorded 19 digs, and Gracie Mills had seven service aces and six kills to power the Lady Raiders to a 3-2 (25-17, 25-8, 21-25, 22-25, 15-9) win over Butler County. Annie Coomes posted seven kills and three blocks, Ella Morris recorded 19 digs and four service aces, and Ava Coomes had three kills and three blocks, while Lilly Goetz finished with six kills and five digs.
“We played well. We kind of came out flat in sets three and four, but played our best set in the fifth,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Adam Huff said. Butler is much improved, and I am proud of the way the girls stayed focused and closed out the night.”
