Owensboro beat Trinity (Whitesville) on the road, while McLean County reverse-swept Hopkins County Central. In other action, Apollo beat Grayson County 3-0.

Keelan Wettstain finished with a team-high 27 digs and added seven service aces, three kills, and one block in the E-Gals’ 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-17) win over Grayson County. Avery Gray recorded 14 kills, 14 digs, and one block, while Maddi Roberts had 14 assists and 14 digs.
“Tonight was a great team win in a tough environment for our team,” Apollo Head Coach Mary Howard said. “I was proud of how the girls rallied through each set to come out on top. We have a tough stretch of road games over the next couple of weeks, and we are doing a good job of staying focused. Grayson County is one of the tougher teams in the region, and it was a good win for us.”

Down 2-0, the Lady Cougars won three straight sets to beat Hopkins County Central 3-2 (23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 15-10) behind Annie Shelton’s 27 digs, 18 kills, and one service ace. Abbi Shivers added 34 digs, three kills, and one service ace, while Amelia Aull added 16 assists, four digs, two kills, and two service aces.
“The girls played unbelievably tonight,” McLean County Head Coach Traci Capps said. “They played with so much intensity and confidence, it amazed me. We have been building all week to get this win in the reverse sweep. I truly feel they have finally started coming together and trusting one another. I’m looking forward to our game Saturday against Butler County.”

Ayrish Barksdale finished with a team high 19 kills and added four digs in the Lady Devils 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-13) win over Trinity (Whitesville). June Larsen added 15 digs and two assists, while Anna Travis recorded 27 assists, six digs, five blocks, and four kills.
“Our girls came out tonight and played a clean game,” Owensboro Head Coach Mitchell Johnson said. “Our servers were aggressive, and our serve receive was clean. We played with high energy tonight and picked up our communication on the court.”
