Owensboro audiences can expect an evening of laughs when nationally touring comedian Mark Chalifoux headlines the Kentucky Sound Stage on October 17. The event is presented in partnership with the Clean Comedy Collective and The Pop Up Comedy Club.

Chalifoux has appeared on The Bob & Tom Show, Dry Bar Comedy, SiriusXM, and the Nateland podcast with Nate Bargatze. He has also written for ESPN and other outlets. The Owensboro performance will be filmed inside one of the Kentucky Sound Stage’s theater spaces at 5333 Frederica Street, giving the show a late-night TV feel.

Opening for Chalifoux will be Gavin Eddings, a former Evansville radio personality. The show will be hosted by Chris Izzy, another Evansville-based comedian who has toured with members of the Super Troopers comedy troupe.

Organizer Dustin Matteson said the show is part of a broader push to bring more stand-up comedy to the region.

“Partnering with Kentucky Sound Stage is a great opportunity to show what this space can do — not just for film and podcast production, but for live performances too,” Matteson said.

He added that he hopes the event helps grow the local comedy scene.

“Owensboro has the potential to become a real destination for clean, family-friendly comedy,” he said.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Seating is limited, and concessions will include snacks and nonalcoholic beverages.

Tickets are available through Ticket Taylor. More information about the Clean Comedy Collective is available online.
