Kentucky Wesleyan College will host Ateneo, the choir from Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, on October 28.

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Jack Wells Activity Center at 3300 Frederica Street. Directed by Pavel Rezny, the concert is part of Owensboro Sister Cities’ collaboration between Owensboro and Olomouc.

Ateneo will be joined by the Kentucky Wesleyan Singers, directed by Hadley Rouse. The Kentucky Wesleyan Singers will also sing a Czech anthem for the Ateneo choir.

One highlight of the concert will be both choirs singing an arrangement of “My Old Kentucky Home,” which Dr. Diane Earle taught Ateneo on a visit to Olomouc. Earle is professor emerita of music at KWC and a member of the Council for Ph.D. Studies at Palacky University.

The concert is free and open to the public.
