Daviess County and Trinity (Whitesville) each picked up dominant wins Saturday behind standout scoring performances from their top players.
Daviess County 73, Ohio County 45
Kennedy Lane poured in 31 points to lead Daviess County past Ohio County in a convincing win at home. The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 16-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Lady Eagles 22-7 in the second to take a commanding halftime advantage.
Daviess also got 11 points each from Maddie Barron and Briley Henry. The Lady Panthers scored 21 in the third and 14 in the fourth to close out the win. Ohio County posted quarter totals of 10, 7, 17, and 11.
Trinity (Whitesville) 81, Union County 54
Ry’Lynne Meserve led a balanced and high-powered attack for the Lady Raiders, scoring 26 points as Trinity rolled to a road win over Union County. Trinity raced out to a 26-10 lead in the first quarter and held a 40-22 edge at the half.
Preslee Meserve added 25 points, while Sophie Hatfield chipped in 12 for Trinity, which closed strong with 23 points in the fourth quarter. Union County scored 10, 12, 17, and 15 across the four periods.
