* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 10 to 19 below zero
are expected.
* WHERE…Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.
* WHEN…Until 10 AM CST /11 AM EST/ Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…The cold wind chills as low as 19 below zero could
result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and
hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these
temperatures.
Make frequent checks on family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators inside.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
