Project Volunteer TV is launching a new series called The Kindness Kid to highlight young people making a difference in their communities through volunteer work.
The show will be hosted by Amanda Owen and directed by Randy Lanham. Each episode will feature a surprise visit to a “super volunteer” youth, recognizing them with a special gift and sharing their story of service.
According to Project Volunteer TV, the show is modeled after the organization’s previous Surprising Heroes episodes and aims to serve as a youth-focused version of that format. The goal is to inspire other children and families to explore their own paths in volunteerism.
Producers say the show will feature uplifting stories from across Kentucky and Indiana, though location is not a requirement for nomination. They plan to film six episodes to start, each spotlighting a different child and their unique volunteer work.
The Kindness Kid will air on the same platforms as Project Volunteer’s other programming, including NRB TV on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and WKU TV on Mondays at 8:30 p.m. The team also plans to pitch the show to streaming networks and partner with school districts to expand its reach and inspire more students to get involved in service efforts.
Nominations for featured youth are currently open. To nominate a Kindness Kid, email [email protected] to receive a submission form.
