Local psychotherapist and author Ken Caselden will celebrate the release of his new book, “The Trudge Paradox,” with a guided breath experience and book signing event set for Feb. 21 at Red Swing Coffee.

The book was released today on Amazon. The event is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. at the coffee shop’s 2803 West Parrish Avenue location.

According to Caselden, the program will begin with a brief welcome and grounding exercise followed by a guided mindfulness and breath experience focused on nervous system regulation and emotional clarity. Caselden will then introduce the book and meet with attendees for conversation, photos, and signings.

Caselden describes the book as a practical, story-driven resource for people navigating difficult seasons, including grief, burnout, betrayal, and identity disruption.

“Most people don’t need another lecture on mindset or trendy quick fix,” Caselden said. “They need language for what’s happening inside them — and a simple way to come back to themselves when life gets complicated and heavy. This event is an invitation to pause, be present, and begin again.”

Caselden said the guided breath portion will be beginner-friendly and last no more than 45 minutes, with participants encouraged, but not required, to bring a yoga mat, blanket, or other comfort items. Attendees may bring their own copy of the book to be signed, and copies are expected to be available for purchase while supplies last. The event is presented as education and personal growth rather than therapy.

Caselden is an Owensboro-area psychotherapist and creator of the Trudge framework, which he said blends practical, evidence-informed tools with embodied practices aimed at helping people rebuild after unexpected life events.
