LADY PANTHERS CRUISE TO WIN ON ROAD
Daviess County (1-0) started their season strong with a dominant road victory over Franklin-Simpson (0-1), beating the Lady Wildcats 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-9).

Leading the way for the Lady Panthers were Elizabeth Moore (8 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces ) and Hannah Axley (11 assists, 4 aces, 4 digs).

Other contributors were Jasmine Beasley (7 kills, 3 aces), Delaney Evans (8 digs, 2 aces), Kloee Phelps (6 digs, 6 aces), Ryann Keller (13 assists), Ashton Johnson (5 kills) and Kinsley Phelps (4 kills).

Daviess County stays on the road Tuesday in a 7 p.m. game at Madisonville-North Hopkins.


OHS FALLS IN FOUR-SET BATTLE AGAINST GRAYSON COUNTY
Playing their season opener at home, Owensboro (0-1) stayed close through the first three sets before Grayson County (1-0) pulled away in the fourth to win 3-1 (25-21, 29-31, 25-20, 25-13).

The Lady Devils came from behind to win the second frame, battling off four set points before finally evening the match with an ace to the back right corner.

Krystell Pappas finished with six aces, six kills, nine assists and six digs to lead Owensboro’s efforts. Also contributing were Hannah Ashley (5 assists, 3 kills, 2 digs), Jersie Rhineburger (9 digs, 2 assists, 2 kills), Kennedy Thompson (4 assists, 2 dig), Lainey Hayden (5 kills, 2 assists), Audretta Tyler (7 digs), Armanda Pappas (6 kills) and Brooklyn Williams (4 kills).

Owensboro goes on the road Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest at McLean County.
