BOYS
BOLING, CLARK LEAD DC TO ANOTHER WIN
Jacob Boling had a hat trick and Hunter Clark added two goals and a pair of assists as Daviess County (4-0) earned a 5-2 victory over Greenwood.

The Panthers allowed their first goal of the season on a penalty kick five minutes in, but Clark scored the equalizer three minutes later when he curled in a shot from the right corner with an assist from Jackson Goddard.

Boling’s first goal came off a cross from Carter Hoagland, and he added another on a penalty kick midway through the half after Clark drew a foul. Greenwood cut the deficit to 3-2 before the half.

Boling added another goal 10 minutes into the second period with an assist from Clark, who capped off the scoring by knocking in a loose ball near the net.

DC is back in action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday when they host Apollo.


RED DEVILS PICK UP WIN, TIE IN ROAD TRIP
Josh Head finished with three total goals as Owensboro (3-2-1) beat Model 4-1 before tying with Madison Central 2-2.

Against Model, the Red Devils got on the board two minutes in when Andrew Saltsman scored on an assist from Paxton Jenkins. Jenkins (Hser Thaw assist), Saltsman (Kevin Payne) and Head (Thaw) added goals before halftime.

In game two, Head connected on a pass from Grayson McFarland for an early lead. Madison Central went in front before another goal by Head evened the score.

Radley Worth had eight saves in each game. The Red Devils finish a seven-game road stretch at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson County.



GIRLS
LADY PANTHERS SPLIT CONTESTS IN TOURNAMENT

Daviess County (5-1) went 1-1 on day one of the Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Lady Panthers fell 6-1 to West Jessamine in the first contest before topping Bartlett (Tenn.) 3-0.

Against West Jessamine, Chloe Hinchcliffe and Avery McNeiley each scored. Brooklyn Vincent and Meredith Campbell had an assist each.

Steely Walker, Ashlyn Payton and McNeiley each scored against Bartlett. Assists came from Sophie Jagoe and Fuqua.

DC wraps up the tournament Sunday at 11:30 a.m. against Beech (Tenn.)
