THURSDAY’S ACTION:
• E-Gals edge Mater Dei in five-set win
• DC earns another sweep in home victory
• Lady Raiders drop district match on road


E-GALS EDGE MATER DEI IN FIVE-SET WIN
Apollo (7-1) battled back from a one-set deficit to claim a 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-13) win at home against Evansville Mater Dei.

Whitley Chambers (10 kills, 7 digs, 3 blocks), Anslee Hopewell (11 assists, 10 digs) and Hallie Wilson (26 digs, 3 aces) led the charge for the E-Gals. Other contributors were Abby Spong (21 digs), Aliyah Combs (8 kills, 6 digs), Brylee Rhodes (5 kills, 4 blocks) and Allie Fulkerson (4 blocks).

Apollo is off until Tuesday, when they play at Owensboro Catholic in the 9th District opener.


DC EARNS ANOTHER SWEEP IN HOME VICTORY
The Lady Panthers (8-2) picked up their sixth sweep of the season with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-22) victory at home against Hopkinsville.

Top performances for DC came from Hannah Axley (17 assists, 3 aces), Chea Bowers (13 digs), Ryann Keller (12 assists), Kinsley Phelps (11 kills), Kendal Goetz (11 digs) and Kloee Phelps (8 kills, 7 digs). Helping the cause were Ashton Johnson (7 kills), Elizabeth Moore (6 kills), Delaney Evans (6 digs) and Jasmine Beasley (5 kills).

The Lady Panthers will play again Tuesday in their 9th District opener against Owensboro.


LADY RAIDERS DROP DISTRICT MATCH ON ROAD
Trinity (3-5) hung close but ultimately fell 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21) on the road to Grayson County.

Leading the Lady Raiders were Cassidy Morris (9 kills, 3 aces, 3 digs), Josie Aull (17 assists, 4 digs, 3 aces) and Taylor Pedley (15 digs, 3 aces). Also contributing were Josie Booker (10 digs), Avery Barnett (3 kills, 3 assists), Madi Edge (8 digs), Morgan Kinsey (7 kills, 4 digs),

Hannah Nash (5 kills, 4 aces), Abby Payne (9 digs) and Jenna McDowell (5 kills).

Trinity will play again Tuesday with a road match at Hancock County.
