Daviess County Public Schools has named Bob W. Dych as its next director of secondary schools, following the upcoming retirement of Jennifer Crume on May 31.

In the role, Dych will support middle and high school administrators and teachers across the district, providing operational and instructional leadership. His responsibilities will also include oversight of programs at Valley School, Owensboro Day Treatment, and the Virtual Academy.

Dych currently serves as principal at Apollo High School, a position he has held since 2022. He previously served as assistant principal at Apollo and began his career in education as a social studies teacher at Daviess County High School in 2000.

Dych said he looks forward to continuing to serve students and families in his new role.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve students, staff, and families at the school level, and I look forward to continuing that service as the Director of Secondary Schools,” he said.

Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Jana Beth Francis said Dych brings both experience and practical insight to the district leadership team.

“I’m excited Mr. Dych will be joining the Office of Teaching and Learning team at the district office,” Francis said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise on school improvement.”

Dych earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1999 and a master’s degree in education administration and leadership in 2008, both from Western Kentucky University.
