Volunteer Owensboro has partnered with the Nonprofit Coalition of Owensboro to launch a new interactive website aimed at connecting local nonprofits and providing a centralized community calendar.

The platform, created by Randy Lanham of Volunteer Owensboro, was developed in response to feedback from nonprofit leaders who expressed a need for better coordination when planning events. The goal is to help organizations avoid scheduling conflicts and instead support one another’s fundraisers and initiatives.

Volunteer Owensboro is offering the service at no cost. The organization has provided free services to more than 100 local, regional, and statewide nonprofits over the past 15 years without charging for its work.

The Nonprofit Coalition of Owensboro was established in the fall of 2021 through a partnership between Kelly Flick, director of grants administration at Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Kara Howard, vice president of development and community engagement at Wendell Foster. The coalition brings together nonprofit leaders, board members, and volunteers for quarterly workshops focused on strengthening leadership and collaboration.

The newly launched website expands on that mission by serving not only as an events calendar but also as a space for nonprofits to share resources, exchange ideas, and network. While only local nonprofit organizations can create accounts and post events, the calendar is accessible to the public at nonprofitcoalitionofowensboro.org.

The site is designed with a simplified, social media-style interface that focuses solely on nonprofit content, allowing organizations to easily view and share updates without the distractions common on traditional platforms.

Representatives of 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the Owensboro-Daviess County area can request access to join the platform by emailing [email protected] and completing a registration form.
