It was an eventful evening for the local teams as Apollo and Hancock County both won.
Apollo 9, Evansville 1
Mollie Julian went 3-4 with two RBIs as the E-Gals cruised past Evansville 9-1. Liza Page went 2-2 with two RBIs, and Keelan Wettstain, Emersyn Bullington, and Kaylee Booker all drove in runs. Julian threw a complete game in the circle, allowing one earned run over seven innings, striking out seven.
Hancock County 4, Breckinridge County 3
With the bases loaded and the potential winning run on base, Ryleigh French was able to record the final out, securing the Lady Hornets 4-3 win over Breckinridge County. Jordyn Waltrip went 2-4, Audrey Carnes finished 2-4 with an RBI, and Ansley House, Gracie Gaynor, and French all drove in runs. French allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings, while Bella Bryant struck out a pair of 1 1/3 innings.
