Trailing Princeton 3-0 entering the bottom of the third and needing a spark, Owensboro Bombers’ Jagger Pate laced a leadoff single to right field. A Jake Murphy fielder’s choice and a Brody Brubaker loaded the bases – setting up an Eli Hampton fielder’s choice and a Colton Carver two-run triple to tie it.

Princeton retook the lead 4-3 in the top of the fourth, but the Bombers responded with a three-run fifth and closed it out 6-4.

Hampton led off the fifth with a single and later scored to tie the game on a defensive error. A hit batter and another error set up Pate’s game-winning hit – a two-run single.

Brodie Tucker started on the mound for the Bombers, allowing four earned runs over three innings, while Porter Hay pitched four shutout innings in relief. At the plate, Carver and Pate both drove in a pair of runs, Hampton finished 2-3 with an RBI, and Jake Murphy scored a run and went 1-2.

The Bombers are off tonight, but return to action tomorrow when they host Elberfeld.
