The Raiders went 2-0 in their KCAC Baseball State Championship run, and McLean County and Daviess County both split their doubleheaders. In other action, Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic both lost.

Daviess County split doubleheader

The Panthers split their doubleheader, losing to Ohio County 8-2, but beating Hart County 4-3. Against Hart County, Logan Mason went 1-3 with two RBIs, while Blake Huff and Nolan Johnson both drove in runs. Mason started on the mound, allowing one earned run over 2 2/3 innings, while Anthony Brinkley struck out seven over 4 1/3 innings.

McLean County split doubleheader

Competing in the Bill Leach Classic, the Cougars finished the day 1-1, losing to Christian County 11-5, but beating Crittenden County 8-5. Against Crittenden County, the Cougars scored four runs in the top of the ninth – highlighted by Jayden Taylor’s three-run homer. Jaelin Groves went 204, and Corbin Martin finished 2-4 with an RBI. Nash Lee started on the mound, allowing two earned runs over 6 2/3 innings, while Taylor pitched in relief.

Franklin Simpson 8, Owensboro 3

The Red Devils fell behind 7-0 early and never fully recovered, losing to Franklin Simpson 8-3. Jordan Quesnell, Max Kahn, and Griffin Gaddis all drove in runs, while Dax Garrison went 2-3. Nash Miller allowed four runs over three innings, while Landon Wink and Quesnell both pitched in relief.

University Heights 6, Owensboro Catholic 1

Jaxson White hit a sacrifice fly to score Mason Russelburg as the Aces fell to University Heights 6-1. Jake Murphy went 2-3, while Drew Miles and Tucker Evans both had hits. Lane Hundley started on the mound, allowing one earned run over three innings, while Gentry Atwell and Lucas Patton both came on in relief.

Trinity (Whitesville) compete in 2026 KCAC Baseball State Championship

Competing in the KCAC Baseball State Championship, the Raiders finished the day 2-0, beating Community Christian 4-1 and Highlands Latin 12-11. Against Highlands Latin, the Raiders trailed 11-9 entering the bottom of the seventh, but scored three runs on a pair of defensive errors.

RJ Cecil went 2-5 with two RBIs, and Nate Terry, Harrison Barrnett, Kayin Howard, Isaac Hernandez, and Cale Boarman all drove in runs. Howard started on the mound, allowing two earned runs, while Hernandez pitched seven innings in relief.
