On Saturday, Owensboro Catholic’s boys’ team shutout the defending state champions, while the Lady Aces outlasted St. Mary’s.
Lady Aces hold off St. Mary’s (4/25)
Hosting St. Mary’s on Saturday afternoon, and despite dropping three singles matches, the Lady aces roared back to win 5-4. Annabelle O’Neill (8-2), Sophia Merchant (8-4), and Mary Edge (8-1) all won their singles matches, while the doubles teams of Alexis Moyers and Gabi Moyers (8-3) and Caleigh White and Betsy Moore (8-6) both emerged victorious.
Aces sweep Covington Catholic (4/25)
Facing off against the reigning state champions in Covington Catholic, the Aces put on a dominant performance, winning 5-0. Jack Haines, Ollie Haines, and Henry Haines all won their singles matches, while the doubles teams of Joseph Merchant and Ben Haines and Luke Pfeiffer and Carson Clark came out on top.
