Downtown Owensboro will once again come alive with music and dancing as the 2nd Street FAM JAM Street Dance Series kicks off Friday for another summer season.

The free, family-friendly event series will take place every Friday night from 6:30-9 p.m. on 2nd Street and will continue throughout the summer and early fall. Organizers said the series will feature 20 weeks of live music, dancing, food, and community activities in the heart of downtown Owensboro.

This year’s series opens Friday with Galactic Foghorn and will continue with a mix of local and regional performers each week through Oct. 2, according to promotional materials released for the event.

Other scheduled performers include Evan Sturgeon, Paul Montgomery, Jarred Green, Timothy Baker, Waylon Coe Jr., Cody Crabtree, Tristan Howard, Chace Saunders, Tony Henning, Doe Elliott, Millie & Skyler, James Elliott, Chris Abell, Scott Ethridge, Jacob Lawalin, Cason Storey, and The Greenlights. There will be no FAM JAM events on July 3 or Sept. 11.

Organizers said the event continues to grow thanks to strong community support and a shared mission of creating free entertainment opportunities downtown.

One new addition this year is a nonprofit spotlight opportunity that will allow local nonprofit organizations to participate during select nights throughout the season.

Selected organizations will have opportunities to interact with attendees, share information about their mission, and connect with the community during the weekly events.

“We want FAM JAM to continue being more than just live music,” organizers shared. “It’s about community, connection, and giving local organizations a platform to share what they do.”

The event is free and open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, support downtown businesses, and enjoy local restaurants during the weekly events.

Sponsors for the 2026 series include VASS, Owensboro Health, Liberty Federal Credit Union, Sun Windows & Doors, and Kentucky Farm Bureau – Gavin Roberts. Participating downtown businesses include Brasher’s Lil’ Nashville, The Pub on Second, Don Mario’s, Mellow Mushroom, and Famous Bistro.
