Leadership Owensboro alumni are invited to reconnect with fellow graduates and learn more about the program’s future during an upcoming Leadership Owensboro Alumni Refresh Luncheon.
Hosted by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by German American Bank, the luncheon is scheduled for noon on June 16 in the third-floor conference room at the Chamber office.
According to the Chamber, the event will provide Leadership Owensboro graduates an opportunity to network with other alumni, receive updates on current initiatives, and discuss ideas for future alumni engagement. Organizers said attendees will also explore ways alumni can continue making a positive impact throughout the Greater Owensboro region.
Leadership Owensboro Alumni was created to connect graduates of the Leadership Owensboro program and encourage continued community involvement through volunteerism, civic participation, philanthropy, and leadership development.
The organization includes more than 1,000 alumni representing business, civic, and community leadership roles across the region.
The Leadership Owensboro Alumni Association was originally established in the early 1980s and connected graduates with leadership opportunities and networking opportunities for more than 20 years. After a period of inactivity, the organization was revived in 2022 through the efforts of the Leadership Owensboro Class of 2022.
“Leadership Owensboro sparks a passion for service, leadership, and community growth that doesn’t have to end at graduation,” said Julia Kimbrell Brooks, the Chamber’s director of talent programs. “Many of the ideas, initiatives, and projects that have strengthened our community began through Leadership Owensboro, and the Alumni Program helps ensure that spirit of collaboration and progress continues for years to come.”
