Several improvement projects are underway or recently completed at Daviess County parks, according to an update from Daviess County Fiscal Court.

At Yellow Creek Park, a new owl sculpture has been installed at the park entrance. Shelter No. 2 is expected to be demolished within the next month and rebuilt to match the park’s newer shelters.

Construction also continues on a new restroom in Pioneer Village, where footers are being poured. The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 15.

Work is also progressing on eight new pickleball courts at Yellow Creek Park, with the court base expected to be poured this week.

At Panther Creek Park, the Feather Landing Shelter has been removed. Footers are expected to be poured soon for a new shelter designed to match the park’s newer facilities.

The park’s Swinging Bridge project has also been completed, and the bridge is now open to the public.

At Stanley Park, lighting for the pickleball courts is expected to be installed within the next two to three weeks. Fiscal Court said the system will operate similarly to the lighting at Yellow Creek Park.

New lighting for Stanley Park’s ballfields is also expected to be installed in approximately seven weeks.
