Families, businesses, and community members will have the opportunity to help local students prepare for the new school year during the annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive on Friday.
The annual event, organized by Daviess County Public Schools and Owensboro Public Schools in partnership with Walmart, collects new school supplies for students and families in need throughout the community.
Donations will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at both Owensboro Walmart locations:
- 5031 Frederica St.
- 3151 Leitchfield Road (KY 54)
Community members can purchase new school supplies while shopping and drop them off at collection sites outside the stores.
The donations will be distributed through the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers in both school districts to help ensure students have the supplies they need for the first day of school.
Organizers said the event provides an opportunity for the community to directly support local students and help families begin the school year on the right foot.
