A murder suspect appeared in Daviess County Circuit Court Friday, entering a not guilty plea for the charges against him.
Demartez D. Thruston was arrested in Louisville last weekend for the March 12 shooting death of Hopkinsville native Kevin D. White. Louisville Metro Police Department arrested Thruston, 18, of Owensboro on Sunday. He was transported back to Daviess County to appear in court.
White was shot on the night of March 12 in the 1000 block of West Eighth Street.
Thruston was indicted by the Daviess County Grand Jury for murder on May 1. Talen M. Johnson, 18, of Owensboro was also indicted for White’s murder on June 6 and was served an additional indictment for first-degree burglary.
Thruston’s next court date will be Nov. 25.
