GIRLS
• McKay leads Lady Aces past Ohio County
• 3 from DC record double-doubles in win
• E-Gals roll past Union County at home
• Owensboro falls against Lady Mustangs

GIRLS
MCKAY LEADS LADY ACES PAST OHIO COUNTY
Hannah McKay recorded a double-double and Owensboro Catholic (3-1) used a dominant first half to roll past Ohio County 61-49 at home. The Lady Aces led 19-11 after the first quarter and 39-21 at the half.

McKay led with 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting (3-for-4 from 3, 4-for-4 from FT line) and added 10 rebounds. Also scoring were Isabella Henning (11), Catherine Head (8), Spencer Harvey (7), Ally Maggard (5), Katie Riney (3), Caroline Reid (1) and Kinsley Goetz (1).


THREE FROM DC RECORD DOUBLE-DOUBLES IN WIN
Adylan Ayer, Katie Mewes and Brooklyn Daugherty each posted a double-double, and Daviess County (2-1) hit 14 3-pointers in a 72-52 home win over Butler County. Tied at halftime, the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Bears 23-8 in the third.

Ayer led all scorers with 26 points and had 10 rebounds, while Daugherty had 16 points and 11 boards. Mewes added 10 points to go along with 13 assists. Also scoring were Ella Payne (12), GJ Page (3) and Madison Spurrier (3).


E-GALS ROLL PAST UNION COUNTY AT HOME
Apollo (2-1) got balanced scoring as they steadily pulled away for a 50-32 home victory over Union County. After leading by five points at halftime, the E-Gals doubled their lead in the third quarter and kept adding on in the fourth.

Amaya Curry led all scorers with 13 points, and Kassidy Daugherty added 11. Also scoring were Amber Dunn (9), Addison Carter (8), Zoe Floyd (5), Amari Sanders (2) and Shelbie Beatty (2).


OWENSBORO FALLS AGAINST LADY MUSTANGS
The Lady Devils (2-2) ran into a hot offense — the Lady Mustangs hit 11 3-pointers — and they couldn’t keep up in a 69-44 loss at home to undefeated Muhlenberg County.

A’Lyrica Hughes led Owensbor with 11 points. Also scoring were Lyric Lawrence (7), Nia Gonzo (7), Kaylyn Sowders (6), Tamia Smith (4), Brooklyn Williams (3), Krystell Pappas (2), Chandler Worth (2) and Nahia Gonzalez (2).



BOYS
WIMSATT’S 26 NOT ENOUGH IN FIRST LOSS FOR OHS
Gavin Wimsatt scored 26 points, but Owensboro (2-1) didn’t have quite enough to keep up down the stretch in a 68-59 loss at Warren Central. After trailing by 10 at the half, the Red Devils got within two heading into the final period.

Jaiden Greathouse finished with 14 points, Amari Wales had 12 and Kenyata Carbon added seven.


WARREN CENTRAL HANDS DC THEIR FIRST LOSS
The Panthers couldn’t overcome a 23-point second quarter by Warren Central, and Daviess County (3-1) fell 57-42 in their first loss this season.

Joe Humphreys led the team with 12 points and Ryan Thomson added 11. Also scoring were Logan Hillard (8), Camron Johnson (6) and Bo Stratton (5). Stratton also led the team with eight rebounds.


BUZZER BEATER LIFTS COLONELS OVER EAGLES
Apollo’s Malik Wilson hit a go-ahead basket in the closing seconds, but Henderson County hit the game winner as time expired to edge past the Eagles (0-3) at home 60-58.

Wilson led all scorers with 15 points in a fairly balanced attack by Apollo. Also scoring were Cameron Frantz (8), Harrison Bowman (8), Jamen Kinison (7), Dan St. Claire (7), Landon Hamilton (7), Ryan Ash (4) and Jaden Kelly (2).
