TUESDAY’S ACTION:
• Red Devils ride big 2nd half to win
• Lady Panthers edge past Hancock County
• Eagles fall just short again
• Mustangs pull away from Panthers late
• Maroons blow out Aces


RED DEVILS RIDE BIG 2ND HALF TO WIN
Owensboro used a 22-5 third quarter to take control and earn a 76-65 home win over Breckinridge County. The Red Devils (14-9) trailed by six at the half, but Kenyata Carbon and Gavin Wimsatt combined for 15 points in the third to put OHS on top.

Carbon, Wimsatt and Jaiden Greathouse each finished with 17 points for the Red Devils — helping offset the 39 scored by Kaeveon Mitchell for the Fighting Tigers. Other scoring for OHS came from Reis Dickinson (15), Trey Hinton (5), Isaac Humphrey (4) and Cayman Powell (1).


LADY PANTHERS EDGE PAST HANCOCK COUNTY
Brooklyn Daugherty poured in 27 points to lead Daviess County to a 59-53 road victory over Hancock County. The Lady Panthers (9-13) trailed by one at halftime but took a 42-31 lead into the fourth quarter.

Adylan Ayer added 15 points for DC, while other scoring came from Katie Mewes (8), Emma Anderson (6) and Ella Payne (3).


EAGLES FALL JUST SHORT AGAIN
Apollo lost a tight game against a tough team again, falling 59-54 at Ohio County. The Eagles (3-19) have lost by an average of just five points in the last five games.

Malik Wilson led the offensive effort with 24 points, while Harrison Bowman added 13. Also scoring were Dan St. Claire (9), Landon Hamilton (4), Cameron Frantz (2) and Ryan Ash (2). Ash also had 10 rebounds.


MUSTANGS PULL AWAY FROM PANTHERS LATE
After a tight game through three quarters, Daviess County couldn’t keep up late in a 57-40 home loss to Muhlenberg County. The Panthers (6-16) led by two after the first quarter but fell behind 24-21 at the half, and the deficit grew to six points by the end of the third.

Logan Hillard paced DC with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Camron Johnson added six points and nine boards. Other scorers were Cole Burch (9), Ryan Thomson (7), Koki Kato (4) and Will Barron (2).


MAROONS BLOW OUT ACES
Madisonville-North Hopkins raced out to a big lead and never looked back, routing Owensboro Catholic 81-39 at home. The Aces (15-8) trailed by 18 after the first quarter and faced a 48-26 deficit at the half.

Ji Webb led Catholic with 14 points and Brian Griffith score eight. Also contributing were Andrew Riney (4), Everett Munsey (3), Luke Scales (3), Drew Hartz (3), Logan Jones (2) and Sam McFarland (2).
