The second COVID-19 related death has been reported in Daviess County. There were also seven news cases announced in Daviess County and one additional case in Ohio County on Friday morning. Eight more recoveries were also reported.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced Friday afternoon that the patient who died was an 81-year-old male.
The total number of reported COVID-19 cases by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district is now 127.
There have been a total of three deaths — two in Daviess County and one in McLean County — and 10 people in the district are currently hospitalized. The total recovered cases in the district is now 51.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 79 cases, 39 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 12 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
- Hancock County – 2 cases, 1 recovered
- Henderson County – 23 cases, 10 recovered, 2 hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
- McLean County – 5 cases, 2 recovered, 1 hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 8 cases, 2 recovered cases, 2 hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 3 cases, 2 recovered
- Webster County – 7 cases, 2 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 18-85, with an average age of 50. To date, 59.2% of patients have been female and 40.8% have been male. Cases by age range are:
- 1-19 — 2 cases
- 20-29 — 15 cases
- 30-39 — 15 cases
- 40-49 — 29 cases
- 50-59 — 26 cases
- 60-69 — 25 cases
- 70-79 — 10 cases
- 80+ — 5 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state.
