A total of 22 more cases of COVID-19 were announced Friday morning for the Green River District, including an 11-year-old — the youngest confirmed patient so far in the area. Cases were reported in Daviess (7), Ohio (9), Henderson (5) and Webster (1) counties.

Of the 284 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 131 (46%) have now recovered and 43 (15%) have required hospitalization. There are 13 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been five deaths — three in Daviess County and one each in McLean and Henderson counties.

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 153 cases, 76 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Hancock County – 6 cases, 5 recovered

  • Union County – 7 cases, 3 recovered
  • Webster County – 22 cases, 9 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 11-93, with an average age of 45. To date, 52.8% of patients have been male and 47.2% have been female. Cases by age range are:

  • 1-11 — 1 case
  • 12-19 — 13 cases
  • 20-29 — 47 cases
  • 30-39 — 55 cases

Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state.
