A 7-month-old and another child under age 12 are among the 13 total cases of COVID-19 announced Tuesday morning for the Green River District. New cases were confirmed in Daviess (7), Henderson (5), and Ohio (1) counties. Twelve more recoveries were also reported.
Of the 320 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 154 (48%) have now recovered and 46 (14%) have required hospitalization. There are 17 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been five deaths — three in Daviess County and one each in McLean and Henderson counties.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 169 cases, 85 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 5 recovered
- Henderson County – 63 cases, 31 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 15 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- McLean County – 11 cases, 5 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 41 cases, 12 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 7 cases, 4 recovered
- Webster County – 23 cases, 12 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 45. To date, 53.4% of patients have been male and 46.6% have been female. Cases by age range are:
- <1 — 1 case
- 1-11 — 2 cases
- 12-19 — 13 cases
- 20-29 — 53 cases
- 30-39 — 61 cases
- 40-49 — 71 cases
- 50-59 — 51 cases
- 60-69 — 37 cases
- 70-79 — 17 cases
- 80+ — 14 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state. The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
