After weeks of being closed, St. Vincent de Paul of Owensboro is now accepting donations on set days of the week. The retail store will remain closed and donations will be self-serve until further notice.
Susan Montalvo-Gesser, director of Catholic Charities, said the site has been accepting donations since May 1, and that items can be dropped off 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
Donations can be dropped off at the store located at 200 E. 18th St. At this time, donations cannot be picked up.
Customers wanting to donate must do so through a self-serve process. Bins at the donation area will be marked “Misc/House,” “Clothing” and “Linens.” Linens include bedspreads, comforters, sheets and towels.
Furniture can also be donated, and the organization asked individuals to bring enough hands with them to assist with heavier items that need to be unloaded.
“Staff will not be able to help in order to comply with social distancing,” the organization said in a Facebook post last week. “Staff will be wearing masks. We ask that you also wear a mask and practice social distancing, for your protection and ours.”
