A total of 19 additional cases of COVID-19 were announced Tuesday morning for the Green River District, and the second death in Henderson County was also reported. New cases were confirmed in Daviess (8), Ohio (7), Henderson (2) and Webster (2) counties. There have also been 19 more recoveries.
Of the 444 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 226 (51%) have now recovered and 51 (11%) have required hospitalization. There are 22 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been seven deaths — four in Daviess County, two in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 236 cases, 116 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 20 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 5 recovered
- Henderson County – 74 cases, 44 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 17 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
- McLean County – 17 cases, 9 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 74 cases, 27 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 8 cases, 6 recovered
- Webster County – 29 cases, 19 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 44. To date, 53.8% of patients have been male and 46.2% have been female. Cases by age range are:
- <1 — 1 case
- 1-11 — 6 cases
- 12-19 — 17 cases
- 20-29 — 77 cases
- 30-39 — 92 cases
- 40-49 — 96 cases
- 50-59 — 72 cases
- 60-69 — 48 cases
- 70-79 — 19 cases
- 80+ — 16 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state. The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
