A total of 15 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 more recoveries were confirmed Thursday morning for the Green River District. New cases were reported in Daviess (5), Ohio (6), Henderson (3) and McLean (1) counties. Ten of the recoveries were in Daviess County.
Of the 476 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 241 (51%) have now recovered and 58 (12%) have required hospitalization. There are 24 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been seven deaths — four in Daviess County, two in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 253 cases, 130 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 23 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 5 recovered
- Henderson County – 79 cases, 44 recovered, 9 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
- McLean County – 19 cases, 9 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 81 cases, 27 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 7 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 9 cases, 7 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 1 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 29 cases, 19 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 44. To date, 54.6% of patients have been male and 45.4% have been female. Cases by age range are:
- <1 — 1 case
- 1-11 — 6 cases
- 12-19 — 19 cases
- 20-29 — 80 cases
- 30-39 — 100 cases
- 40-49 — 104 cases
- 50-59 — 78 cases
- 60-69 — 51 cases
- 70-79 — 20 cases
- 80+ — 17 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state. The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
