The 2020 Owensboro Parent Magazine Kids Triathlon has been cancelled, as announced Thursday afternoon. The triathlon was originally scheduled for July 25.
“Healthy kids and families is the goal of this annual triathlon,” said Ashley Gleason, co-race director. “In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we feel that cancelling is the right decision. We encourage everyone to stay safe, active and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you for our 2021 event.”
The annual event, which started in 2016, is presented by Independence Bank and was scheduled to be held at the Owensboro Health Healthpark. Owensboro Parent Magazine confirmed the race does plan to resume in 2021, and they will keep the public updated via their social media pages.
