The COVID-19 pandemic has forced celebrations to look a little different these days. With no large gatherings, no dining out at restaurants, and staying six feet apart from others, showing mom love on Mother’s Day can be tough.

Below are some tips for how to celebrate mom this holiday while still staying safe:
• Serve her breakfast in bed
• Deck out her front door or throw her a porch party
• Host a virtual happy hour
• Watch the same movie, at the same time, then discuss afterward either with a phone call or virtual meeting
• Backyard picnic
• Make a donation to the charity of her choice

While restaurants are still closed to in-person dining, many local restaurants are offering special take-out deals for Mother’s Day. Surprise mom by getting her favorite food delivered to her door.

While it won’t the same as giving a hug or spending time together, there are still plenty of safe and meaningful ways to honor mothers and their roles in our lives.
