A total of 26 more cases of COVID-19 and 20 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District. The first coronavirus-related death was reported for Webster County.
New cases were in Daviess (5), Henderson (10), Ohio (7), Webster (2) and Union (2) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (9), Hancock (4), Henderson (1), Ohio (5) and Webster (1) counties.
Of the 1,333 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,071 (80%) have now recovered and 121 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 20 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 14 deaths — Daviess County (7), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), Ohio County (1) and Webster (1).
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 583 cases, 490 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 52 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 33 cases, 28 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 256 cases, 202 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 32 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 37 cases, 29 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 316 cases, 238 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Union County – 39 cases, 29 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 69 cases, 55 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 10 ever hospitalized, 1 death
Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.8% of patients have been male and 50.2% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 3 cases
- 1-11 — 29 cases
- 12-19 — 86 cases
- 20-29 — 248 cases
- 30-39 — 267 cases
- 40-49 — 247 cases
- 50-59 — 182 cases
- 60-69 — 141 cases
- 70-79 — 76 cases
- 80+ — 50 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
