A total of 20 more cases of COVID-19 and 16 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Friday for the Green River District. For the second day in a row, two coronavirus-related deaths were reported for Ohio County.
New cases were in Daviess (4), Henderson (8), McLean (1), Ohio (6) and Webster (1) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (6), Henderson (2) and Ohio (8) counties.
Of the 1,382 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,101 (80%) have now recovered and 125 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 22 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 18 deaths — Daviess County (7), Ohio County (5), Henderson County (4), McLean County (1), and Webster County (1).
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 605 cases, 500 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 52 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 33 cases, 29 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 269 cases, 206 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 32 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 38 cases, 31 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 5 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 326 cases, 249 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 21 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
- Union County – 40 cases, 29 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 71 cases, 57 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 10 ever hospitalized, 1 death
Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.6% of patients have been male and 50.4% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 3 cases
- 1-11 — 32 cases
- 12-19 — 91 cases
- 20-29 — 259 cases
- 30-39 — 274 cases
- 40-49 — 251 cases
- 50-59 — 188 cases
- 60-69 — 146 cases
- 70-79 — 80 cases
- 80+ — 54 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
