OPD: Owensboro juvenile arrested after fleeing scene of accident

A 17-year-old male from Owensboro was arrested Friday morning on several charges including wanton endangerment after allegedly driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to reports, the juvenile was arrested by Owensboro Police Department and is being charged with: 
• wanton endangerment, first  degree (Class D felony)
• disorderly conduct, second degree 
• operating motor vehicle under the influence, first offense
• possession of drug paraphernalia
• leaving the scene of an accident
• no operator’s license. 

According to OPD, at approximately 8:36 a.m. Friday OPD responded to the Glover Cary Bridge on an accident. Spencer County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a vehicle southbound that struck an occupied pickup truck. 

According to reports, the driver exited the vehicle, fleeing southbound on foot before being taken into custody on the bridge.
