After inclement weather pushed back tee times a few hours Thursday at Augusta National, former Owensboro Catholic standout John Augenstein finally hit the course a little after 1 p.m. CST and is currently the low amateur despite not finishing his first round.

Augenstein is currently tied for 34th at 1-under as he finished 12 holes with Rickie Fowler and Danny Willett. Paul Casey is leading the field at -7 while fellow Kentuckian Justin Thomas is tied for second at -5.

Augenstein was even through three then birdied the par-three fourth before getting a bogey on the next hole. He closed out the front nine with back-to-back birdies to go into the back nine at -2.

After a par on No. 10, Augenstein bogeyed 11 then finished with a par on No. 12 before play was suspended.

The Vanderbilt star will hit the course in the morning to finish his first round.
