COVID-19 update: 179 cases, 252 recoveries reported for district

A total of 179 more cases of COVID-19 and 252 recoveries were announced Friday for the Green River District, including 83 cases and 140 recoveries in Daviess County.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (83), Hancock (8), Henderson (46), McLean (3), Ohio (19), Union (12), Webster (8)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (140), Hancock (10), Henderson (35), McLean (5), Ohio (34), Union (11), Webster (17)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 18,649
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 14,619 (78%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 26
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 780 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 314

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 8,705 cases, 6,756 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 305 ever hospitalized, 145 deaths
  • Hancock County – 723 cases, 552 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 14 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,011 cases, 3,128 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 192 ever hospitalized, 57 deaths
  • McLean County – 785 cases, 617 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 47 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,190 cases, 1,757 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 107 ever hospitalized, 45 deaths
  • Union County – 1,176 cases, 980 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 55 ever hospitalized, 11 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,059 cases, 829 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 53 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46%
  • Female: 54%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 75 cases
  • 1-11 — 652 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,622 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,064 cases
  • 30-39 — 2,951 cases
  • 40-49 — 2,875 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,674 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,284 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,440 cases
  • 80+ — 1,012 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
