Daviess County 12, Muhlenberg County 8 (10 innings)

Daviess County scored four runs in the 10th inning to get past Muhlenberg County for season-opening win on the road.

The Panthers trailed 8-1 after the fourth inning but put six across the plate in the fifth and another in the seventh to send the game to extra innings.

Decker Renfrow and Mason Boswell each had a pair of hits to lead DC. Renfrow also had two runs and three RBIS, while Boswell knocked in three runs and had the team’s only double. Garrett Small added two RBIs, and Owen Payne scored three times.

Cason Troutman got the win on the mound, pitching the final two innings and striking out all six batters he faced.

Daviess County plays today at home against Greenwood.

Owensboro 4, Ohio County 3 (8 innings)

The Owensboro Red Devils needed extra innings but they grabbed a season-opening win over Ohio County on the road Monday.

Owensboro scored in the top of the eighth to edge the Eagles 4-3 in eight innings.

Senior Ethan Gibson led the Red Devils at the plate going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Blake Kimbrell and Kendrick Williams each added a hit and an RBI while Caden Ray and Connor Hallmark each added runs.

Owensboro has its home opener today against Henderson County.

Owensboro Catholic 3, Breckinridge County 2

The Owensboro Catholic Aces scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take down Breckinridge County 3-2.

Luke Evans earned the win on the mound and led the Aces at the plate as he went 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Sam McFarland also added two hits while also scoring a run. Jamison Wall and Finley Munsey each finished with a hit and a run for Catholic in the victory.

The Aces head across the river today for a matchup with South Spencer.
